Quantitative Analyst – Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer

 

Quantitative Analyst sought to join a Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer pioneering a portfolio of Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage, Vertical Farms, On-site Energy Generation, Energy-from-waste, Anaerobic Digestion, Bioenergy gas injection amongst others. As a quantitative analyst, you will support trading analytics with the development of forecasting and optimisation models. Additionally, you will support investment case development for new projects and in the understanding of energy markets.

 

Joining as the number two within an established team, you will enjoy significant autonomy and therefore, must have the capacity to assess the strategic challenges of the UK energy market environment, suggest development solutions, and carrying out their implementation following coding best-practices. 

 

Main functions:

- Quantitative support for trading decisions and asset management

- Development of analytical tools, market forecasting and asset optimisation models

- Design, release and maintenance of internal software

 

Core skills:

- Mathematical / quantitative background

- Coding proficiency (ideally Python, but also SQL, C++/C#, R, Matlab, etc.)

- Practival understanding of software project management (Jira, Git, etc.)

- Some knowledge of (or at least interest in) the UK energy market
