Procurement Lead – Leading Independent Power Producer / Energy Storage Projects
Mint Selection is partnered with a highly-successful, investor-backed Independent Power Producer who own and operate one of Europe’s largest grid flexibility and energy storage portfolios.
As part of their current multi-GW pipeline, they are developing a number of cutting edge energy projects including Green Hydrogen and Pumped Storage Hydro.
As they move these projects through development, we are looking to appoint a Procurement Lead who can devise and execute the company’s Procurement strategy, acting as a central function supporting diverse project areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain the company procurement strategy with due consideration of supply chain constraints
Identify key internal and external local and global stakeholders to develop a strategic procurement management plan to source the best products and suppliers
Initiate, manage and maintain strategic relationships with key supply chain partners
Manage the procurement process from scheduling activities, scoping and tendering packages, evaluation, negotiation, finalisation and production of robust documentation
Assist in developing project tendering and procurement strategies that align with the Company strategy
Establish annual Procurement Strategy document and strategic outsourcing plan, identifying annual procurement initiatives
Provide regular updates and reports to key internal stakeholders
Maintain in-depth knowledge of developments in relevant local, national and international supply chains including knowledge of current market rates
Ensure compliance of procurement management processes across all activities within the ISO framework, and provide guidance to wider company staff
Desired Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable experience leading procurement for complex projects within the Energy, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors
Track record of developing and executing a successful end-to-end procurement strategy from initial contract query through to close
Able to articulate a complex procurement strategy to key internal and external stakeholders
Knowledge of procurement processes for both hardware and services
Commercial acumen to lead negotiations with each stage of the supply chain
Any experience in procurement of turbines and complex mechanical parts would be beneficial
Proactive, hands-on approach and comfortable working as part of a dynamic team
