PPA Origination and Structuring Director – Renewable Energy Investment Platform
PPA Origination and Structuring Director sought by a leading Investment Platform with a growing presence across the Renewable Energy and Cleantech segments.
The Renewable Energy investment team originate and execute investments across energy transition segments with a key focus on renewable generation assets, portfolios, companies, and service providers. There is a minimum annual commitment of £1Bn of equity funding.
The successful PPA Origination and Structuring Director will be an energy markets leader, able to deliver appropriate contracting strategy and provide expertise and leadership on renewable energy deals and opportunities. The PPA Director will be closely working with the Power and Utilities business and will be responsible for coordinating with the PPA team in the Power Trading Desk.
PPA Origination and Structuring Director, key responsibilities and expected experience:
- Originating, structuring, and negotiating corporate and utility PPA contracts and physical route to market agreements for renewables investments across multiple jurisdictions
- The building of a network of corporate/industrial off-taker relationships
- Providing in depth market analysis and expertise in relation to power markets, offtake structures and route to market for renewables investments across Europe
-Understanding of the regulatory power markets/energy / offtake landscape across the firm’s investments’ jurisdictions and understanding of key factors driving pricing and terms in PPA markets (merchant risk management, CfD auctions, capacity markets, balancing mechanisms etc)
- Innovation around hedging strategy, in particular in markets where it will allow the company to take a leading position in investments
- Providing inputs into and leading on the investment analysis and ownership of the offtake section of the investment papers
- 10 years + experience working in energy sector, power markets / origination and structuring of offtake contracts, energy sales, energy trading and/or energy contract structuring
- Education in engineering, energy science, economics, physics, mathematics, or business preferred
- Advanced professional financial qualification (e.g., ACA, CFA, MBA) preferred
