Head of Health, Safety and Environment – Leading Renewable Energy IPP/Developer

We are partnered with a dynamic and well-funded renewable energy IPP that develops, acquires, constructs, and operates a range of assets. Technologies including solar, offshore, and onshore wind projects. Within their portfolio, they currently operate over 900 MW of assets and are in hyper-growth mode, aiming to expand to over 2.5 GW by the end of 2025.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE strategies and policies across their assets, ensuring full compliance with all regulations and legislation while actively promoting a culture of safety and prevention. You will be pivotal in liaising and building strong relationships across the business, with key stakeholders and contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement aligned HSE strategies, models, and plans, providing leadership for enhanced controls.

  • Advise COO on HSE compliance, fostering a culture of prevention and compliance.

  • Maintain and enhance HSE management and reporting systems, ensuring compliance across all projects.

  • Collaborate with teams on HSE programs and oversee reporting to stakeholders.

  • Monitor EPC contractors' HSE systems during construction.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Engineering) and Chartered membership in a relevant Professional Organization.

  • 7+ years HSE Experience, with expertise in large construction and renewable energy projects.

  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage (up to 132 kV) electrical safety.

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven leadership, report writing, and interpersonal skills. (Fluent English required).
