Group Financial Controller – Market Leading Independent Power Producer

Group Financial Controller sought by market leading Independent Power Producer.

 

Our client has recently been acquired by a top tier Private Equity fund who are now looking to inject significant capital to accelerate the growth of the business. Already operating one of Europe’s largest Battery Energy storage portfolios, their >12GW + development pipeline consist of Batteries, Fast-Response Peaking Plants, Pumped Storage Hydro, and Green Hydrogen.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage finance and accounting operations to maximise efficiency and ensure that controls are maintained to a high standard as the company grows rapidly.

  • Provision of monthly management accounts to the management team and investors.

  • Work with CFO on monthly Board packs.

  • Robust and accurate cash flow management including managing debt and equity draw down process.

  • Manage debt facility compliance ensuring compliance with all facility agreements (currently £300m).

  • Audit and accounting – manage the annual audit process, ensuring that any potential issues are addressed up front.

  • Secretary to the Group Audit Committee.

  • Tax compliance and planning, liaising with advisors to ensure that tax issues are understood and managed.

  • Oversight of Company Secretary activities.

  • Manage the annual budget process and within year forecasts, working closely with relevant teams to ensure that risks to delivery of targets are identified early and that budgetary controls are robust.

  • Management of outsourced payroll for Group employees (circa 100 today).

  • Manage team (currently four but expected to grow).

 

Skills and qualifications:

  • Graduate from Russell Group or equivalent university

  • Qualified accountant with audit experience (preferably big 6)

  • Experience in industry preferred, ideally in capex intensive industry.

  • High numeracy, attention to detail, IT literacy and communication skills

  • Self-started with track record of making change.

  • High potential, scope to grow rapidly with the role.
