Grid Connections Manager – Renewable Energy, Energy Storage & Hydrogen Electrolysis IPP

 

Grid Connections Manager sought by established Independent Power Producer who develop, build, finance and operate a range of Renewable Energy, Energy storage and future Hydrogen Electrolysis assets across the UK. Joining the Project Development team, you will lead key aspects of the grid connection process for its rapidly growing portfolio of energy infrastructure assets.

 

The successful Grid Connections Manager will play an essential role in managing the relationships with National Grid and the assorted DNO’s. This is primarily a management appointment where you will be coordinating with key project partners, selecting and managing ICP’s, negotiating commercials around connections with some technical input and capacity oversight. You will be supported by a technical team and manage the relationships with specialist grid advisors also.

 

The platform have over 1GW of projects either in operation or under construction that have been developed in-house. They have more than 1GW going into construction in the coming 18 months and total development pipeline north of 10GW’s. This includes Pumped Storage Hydro, Electrolysis, Battery Energy Storage and Solar PV.

 

Location – The Grid Connections Manager should be able to spend some time in the London office. There is flexibility on base location.

 

 

Grid Connections Manager responsibilities:

 Lead Grid Offer negotiations with National Grid/DNOs on pricing, milestones and payments

  • Assess the suitability of grid for early-stage projects

  • Serve as company point of contact for all grid related communications

  • Manage ICP tender processes including establishing scope of work, reviewing responses and selecting contractors

  • Provide technical support during project construction

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry leading ICPs

  • Identify and review emerging technologies and techniques to optimise new projects

  • Develop and manage cost estimation throughout the project development process
