Commercial Energy Property Solicitorsought by a global Clean Energy platform who provide solutions to Commercial & Industrial clients. Behind-the-meter Solar PV (rooftop and ground mount) is the most common solution, but it can also include Financing, Battery Energy Storage, Solar Carports, Energy Management Systems +.
As part of an international consortium, our client has recently launched the UK business and we’re looking for a capable legal professional who will support project conveyancing and commercial structuring as well as operational legal aspects at company level. This will be a broad and varied role and the expectation is that you’ll be part of a fast-growth story as the business is scaled in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice to the business across a wide range of commercial property matters;
o Handle complex property transactions including acquisitions, SPV’s and development projects.
o Completing title reviews, to identify land ownership, restrictive covenants, registered interests etc.
o Obtaining required
consents.
o Completing property searches, where required i.e. Mines & Minerals, Chancel Repair etc.
o Registering of lease and/or applicable licences with Land Registry.
• Review and negotiating contracts, such as Leases, PPA’s, PCG’s, NDA’s and Supply Agreements.
• Preparing and issuing of contracts for execution.
• Securing project related insurances.
• Monitoring UK legislation regarding domestic and commercial renewable energy generation and supply.
• Managing third-party legal advisors and taking the lead legal role internally and externally.
• Support the UK HR function, with legal compliance.
• Support with Company Secretarial compliance.
Practical Details:
• Home-based initially with a business focus around the South West of England, and plans to open an office in Bristol in the medium term.
• Occasional wider UK and international travel required.
Requirements:
• Qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years of experience specializing in commercial property law.
• A proven track record of handling diverse commercial property cases and transactions successfully.
• In-depth knowledge of property laws, regulations, and industry practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve complex legal issues efficiently.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Membership in the Law Society of England and Wales.
