About the Company: Our client is a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, committed to driving the shift to a sustainable energy future. Key Responsibilities:
•Site Identification and Evaluation: Identify and assess potential sites for solar and BESS projects, conducting comprehensive feasibility studies including technical, financial, and environmental assessments.
•Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Navigate the permitting process, liaising with local authorities, landowners, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
•Project Planning and Management: Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) and external consultants to drive project progress.
•Land Lease Negotiation: Negotiate and secure land leases or purchase agreements with landowners, ensuring favourable terms for project development.
•Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and industry partners.
•Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and policies affecting solar and BESS development.
•Public Representation: Represent the company at public meetings, hearings, and industry events, effectively communicating project benefits and addressing concerns.
•Reporting: Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
•Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
•Experience: At least 5 years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector, with a strong preference for solar and BESS experience.
•Track Record: Proven success in developing and delivering renewable energy projects, with a thorough understanding of the UK planning and permitting process.
•Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
•Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed to support project development activities.
