Planning Associate – Grid Balancing Independent Power Producer
Development Consent Order (DCO) Associate sought by established Independent Power Producer who develop, build, finance and operate cutting Energy Infrastructure across Europe.
Joining the Project Development team of the UK’s most successful IPP, you will benefit from working with a range of industry veterans across Planning, Legal, Land and Grid functions. You will work on multi-GW projects spanning Pumped Storage Hydro, Thermal Hydrogen Generation, Hydrogen Production & Subsurface Storage, Battery Energy Storage and a range of Renewable Generation Assets.
Location – With a London HQ and smaller regional hubs, there is some flexibility. Preference for a balanced week between office and home with site/stakeholder travel as required.
Renewable Energy Planning Associate key requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience in planning advisory or in-house project development
Possess a sound working knowledge of the UK planning system, both at TCPA and DCO levels
Extensive stakeholder management experience, including with local authorities, landowners, and local communities
A good level of commercial awareness
Excellent communication
Excellent data organisation and analytical skills
The ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Full driver's licence
Planning Associate key responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects from pre-application, through planning and onto investment decision
Work directly with the Project Development Director to ensure timely development of projects throughout the UK
Run and manage consultants for planning applications
Manage local authorities and communities throughout the planning process
Scope to extend the responsibilities of the role to include overall project coordination (not limited to planning) should this appeal.
