Lead Project Manager – Renewable Energy Project Developer
Lead Project Manager sought by established Renewable Energy Project Developer. Our client develop, build, finance and operate utility scale renewable generation projects. The successful Project Manager will be joining to deliver a portfolio of projects including solar PV, battery energy storage and hydrogen electrolysis assets.
The ideal Lead Project Manager will have a strong engineering/technical background and will have experience in the development, construction and operation of solar PV assets, and ideally energy storage assets, in the UK. You will take project responsibility from the Development team, leading the delivery of the portfolio and aid in the transition towards renewable energy generation in the UK.
Lead Project Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Design
-- Work with Project Development team
-- Manage project costs
-- Manage TDD process for communication between the Owner and team
-- Ensure requirements are incorporated into design
-- Design energy storage systems into existing and new solar projects
- Construction
-- Determine contract resource requirements, service specifications and manage contractor performance
-- Manage inspection related activities
-- Monitor and evaluate subcontractors
-- Develop, review and evaluate contracts and agreements affecting projects
-- Problem resolution through collaboration with the tam and field construction managers
-- Identify and mitigate construction risks
-- Site visits 1 day / week to ensure compliance of all EC arrangements (mostly Norfolk/East of England)
- Operation
-- Create technical documentation, specifications, procedures and troubleshooting support
-- Coordinate with O&M teams
-- Review and provide feedback on technical equipment
-- Review and recommend new maintenance procedures based on ever updating regulatory requirements and new technologies
-- Support procurement
-- Support in developing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for pertinent failures of solar equipment
-- Deliver training on plant control and protection systems
-- Provide additional support to other business units
Lead Project Manager Key Requirements:
- Knowledge/experience of the UK renewable energy market
- 5+ years experience in development/construction/operation of solar PV assets
- Degree in engineering or technical discipline highly valued
- Considerable knowledge of PVSYST, MS Project and Medium Voltage calculation software
- UK drivers licence and ability to travel nationally
Location – offices located in London and Bristol, with projects countrywide (travel required)
