Our client develops, owns, and operates renewable energy projects across the UK and Canada, particularly focusing on Solar PV and Battery Storage utility-scale projects.
With a good understanding of the economics of battery storage, the Analyst will play a key role in the team, providing vital support for our client’s forthcoming project financing, in setting up their investment management business and providing insight into Energy Storage financing. The role offers hands-on experience of a wide range of finance- and transaction-related tasks and activities in a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities:
● Building “bankable” financial models for our clients’ projects on an individual and portfolio level across multiple technologies, with a particular focus on solar PV and battery energy storage systems and multiple jurisdictions, e.g. UK, Canada
● Leading on the development of internal policies and financial models for the financing of both co-located and stand-alone energy storage
● Supporting in the negotiation of project finance funding, initially for solar PV and energy storage projects
● Supporting in the negotiation of power and carbon offtake agreements
● Supporting in the negotiation of new investment and M&A transactions, including managing the DDQ process, instructing professional advisors and overall transaction management
● Providing analysis and recommendations to support commercial negotiations
● Preparing presentations, attending meetings and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, e.g. shareholders, potential investors, etc.
● Supporting the development of the corporate business plan for our client and its subsidiary businesses including financial modelling
Financial / Investment Analyst Required Qualifications & Experience:
● 2+ years’ experience in an equivalent role
○ financial modelling
○ transactions with institutional finance providers
○ managing the work of professional advisors, e.g. legal, technical
● Renewable Energy / Battery Storage experience preferred but will also consider broader Power & Energy or Infrastructure background
● Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or relevant quantitative discipline
● Appropriate training in Excel/financial modelling
