Quantitative Analyst – GB/EU Power
Introduction:
Mint Selection is partnered with a European energy trading leader. They are seeking an experienced Quantitative Analyst to join their trading business focused on building out quantitative market models, portfolio and pricing tools and systematic trading strategies.
The role:
As a member of the quant function, you will collaborate closely with the front office teams developing and delivering sophisticated market and data analytics, pricing, risk and forecasting models, in-house analytics tools and contributing to portfolio and risk analysis.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quantitative models for pricing, risk, S&D and market forecasts
Deploy machine learning, data tools, advanced mathematics and statistical techniques to identify market trends, opportunities, optimisation projects and risks
Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and technology teams to enhance and automate trading strategies
Participate in the development and enhancement of trading strategies.
Develop in-house tools and techniques for data visualization, analysis, testing and forecasting
Provide quantitative insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
About you:
You should have a track record in quantitative analysis applied to the energy sector, coupled with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset
Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics or similar, advanced degree is preferred
Experience in energy trading, commodities or financial services
Demonstrable experience working with Python and libraries (numpy, pandas etc), SQL, Rest-API, R, VBA
Exposure or knowledge of portfolio management and risk
Excellence in converting and communicating mathematical and theoretical information into clear and concise information
Strong communication, both verbal and written
