Procurement Manager of Pumped Storage Hydro Portfolio – Independent Power Producer
Our client, a Developer, Owner and Operator of assets in Battery Storage (UK leader), Fast-Response (H2 Ready), Hydrogen and Pumped Storage Hydro (PSH), based in London, are hiring a Commercial Procurement Manager, to work on the procurement of a range of equipment, works and services that span EPC, O&M, and OEM for their PSH portfolio.
As their PSH projects are set to go into FEED in the coming months, the need has arisen for someone to own the procurement and contracts function for the portfolio. Your role will be to own the entire process for the first project totalling 600MW (with a 2.1GW total pipeline). You will be responsible to define & implement the supplier strategy. You will draft EPC heavy civils and Balance of Plant (BoP) contracts during the development and FEED phase.
You will have full autonomy, and the remit to run this function in the way you know is best. As such, you’ll have a background in Procurement and experience on major heavy civils and ideally, related BoP.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsibility for the end-to-end procurement of a wide range of equipment, work and services to meet the needs of our Client’s PSH portfolio, up to final tender.
• Management of the negotiation of large and complex project contracts (including heavy civils EPC and BoP contracts).
• Development, implementation and management of purchasing strategies for these contracts.
Key Requirements:
• You have a degree, ideally in engineering or economics.
• Legal background desirable.
• Renewable energy background preferred but not essential. Broader Infrastructure, Power and related segments also appropriate.
• Demonstrable experience in the management and processing of large and complex tenders for renewable energy EPC and BoP contracts within the UK or internationally.
• Demonstrable experience of negotiating commercial procurement contracts and managing risk.
• Demonstrable experience in drafting contracts.
