Commercial Director – Green Hydrogen Integrator

Commercial Director sought by Green Hydrogen Mobility Integrator based in the UK. 

Our client have established themselves as a pioneer in providing transport decarbonisation for the Bus, Train, HGV, Shipping and Last-Mile delivery sectors. As a part of a consortium of businesses, they are involved in an end-to-end process from developing and operating the required energy infrastructure assets (Renewable Power Generation, Electrolysis plants) to the transportation and distribution of Green Hydrogen and the overall provision of zero-emissions mobility as a service to end users.

The successful Commercial Director will form part of the leadership team and oversee all Strategy, Asset Management and new Investment activities. She or He will have a background in renewable energy, industrial gases or zero-emissions transport.

Commercial Director responsibilities:

  • Coordinate overall business development activities to grow in this sector

  • Manage and develop group strategy

  • Establish and continuously seek to improve value proposition in the sector by gathering market insights and feedback from regional teams

  • Develop and strengthen relationships, including the development of formal partnerships at international and regional levels

  • Coordinate investment case development with project development team

  • Manage relationships with equity investors and lenders

  • Oversee existing investments / support asset management and operations

  • Enhance the company brand and awareness in the market

Commercial Director experience:

  • Knowledge of Renewable Energy and Power markets in the UK&I

  • Understanding of and exposure to the development process behind energy infrastructure (Site acquisition, grid connections, planning +)

  • Awareness of the investment case required to finance energy infrastructure including route-to-market

  • Executive / Director level responsibilities within a related field

  • Knowledge of Industrial Gases or the transportation and distribution of green gases would be a positive

  • Knowledge of public transport (Bus, Train, HGV, Freight +) and the transition to zero-emissions would be a positive

  • Experience in leading business development activities especially for complex integrated bid solutions or high complexity energy infrastructure assets

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills

  • Highly driven – able to see projects through to successful conclusion
